Secure Place (50k)

DATE WILL BE SATURDAY 3RD JULY 2027

PLEASE NOTE - DUE TO RISING COSTS WE'VE HAD TO PUT THE PRICE UP TO £40 FOR A PLACE IN 2027'S RACE, BUT FOR A 50k THAT'S STILL PRETTY GOOD : )

Unbelievably, 2027 will see the 12th edition of Ham & Lyme 50k/100k! This has become one of the more popular ultras in the South-West. We have never had a lottery for this race yet and we still don't, although the level of interest may one day make this necessary. For the meantime we've allowed the option to secure a place early in recent years - usually when checking the inbox after the race weekend we're absolutely inundated with entries for the following year, with them having come in quickly leading up to the event as well.

A full page will appear for the race closely following this year's event but in the meantime those who know the score and want to sign up early can now do so (50k only - 100k will open for entries soon after this year's event.)

Some of the best things about Ham & Lyme: -

*It's truly for everyone - we have an increasingly competitive group of runners racing each other to inspirationally fast times... we have runners inspirationally completing their first 50k.... we have a few inspirationally walking the route and showing far more endurance than any of the above ; )

* The seaside finish leads to a phenomenal atmosphere - there are times during the afternoon when the cheers are almost like a football crowd, but then when the last 100k runners come in late at night you can hear the waves crashing on the shore and the mournful cries of the seagulls who ate too many chips!

* The route is based on the Liberty Trail - a journey taken by six villagers in 1685 to join the Monmouth Rebellion. What would they have thought if they'd known what people would do with that route hundreds of years later??

* The 100k and 50k runners pass each other along the way and a huge amount of encouragement goes both ways. Some have described this as one of their best experiences during an ultra

* A sea of colour from different running clubs at the start spreads out along the course - it's a truly special day!

* Emu selfies ; )

Do you really want to miss out on that? If the answer is no then you know what to do : )
